The Vision for “Save America”:

How God Spoke to Robert Berry and His Wife, Toni

Greetings, my fellow American believers, and my fellow believers in America! I am Captain Robert Paul Berry, US Army, Retired. I wish to speak to you today about an urgent call I have received from the Lord—a call issued forth “from sea to shining sea.”

On August 10, 2010, I was praying, complaining to God regarding the problems in our land, the United States of America. I heard the audible voice of God—a voice which commanded me to “Gather the Church.” I was frozen, briefly, by the weight of what I had heard. Then the voice returned: “Gather the Church in the ‘Great White City,’ the seat of your power!”

The great white city…. I knew, immediately, that this city was Washington, DC, the seat of power for the most powerful nation on Earth. I began to investigate, mentally, what would be required to gather God’s people in unity, to humbly pray for America. I decided I would need help, even deciding that the Lord, our God, had not really meant for me personally to do this, but maybe wanted me to find a major ministry to accomplish this undertaking.

I decided Billy Graham Ministries would be a good place to start looking for help. I prepared and sent to them a wonderful letter, which explained my call from the Lord, and asked their global ministries to take over the mission.

But instead of taking charge, they sent a response that became a fulcrum to lever me into action. You see, BGM replied, in an eloquent return letter, that they were busy doing the ministries God had called them to do, and that, perhaps, I should be busy doing what the Lord had called me to do!

I prayed, and started work. I formed a non-profit organization, One Church // One Voice. I decided to write the words with two parallel slashes between the words “One Church,” and the words “One Voice.” This symbolized the walls we were tearing down. And then, we went to work: my wife, Toni, and I. We knew that if this venture failed, our disobedience had better not be the reason! (Thanks, Billy Graham!) I asked my pastor, Pastor Port Wilburn of Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship Church in San Pablo, California, when we should gather. Immediately, without a second thought, he said 11/11/11, because that is going to be a big day, and folks will remember it. At this point, in 2010, I knew nothing of the 11/11/11 movement, but God was working!

We began mass mailings to churches in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC region. We started writing about the Church gathering in our blog, www.revelationsperberry.com. As we demonstrated obedience, the Lord began to call us forward in global ministry. We soon had prayer ministry for the churches in Hyderabad, India; worship ministry with Satellite Worship, of Scotland; a tract ministry in Ivory Coast; and a support ministry to Pastor Friday Huzekor, in Nigeria’s persecuted Christian community.

Over the next year, we came to learn about the great 11/11/11 movement, which God was stirring around the world. When the doors seemed to be closing for us to organize a mass event in DC, we eagerly joined hands with this movement, since it had a similar vision. Then while I was helping with preparations for the Rose Bowl Gathering on that date, I met a brother, Pastor Kevin Richardson, who urged me not to abandon God’s call to gather the Church in Washington, DC. We needed to seek God for His timing.

God also spoke strongly to my wife, Toni, that the central focus of the event in DC was to save America. “The Holy Spirit keeps speaking those two words,” she said: “‘Save America.’ Write them down—they’re significant.” So I did. The next day, Kevin Richardson called with a word from the Lord saying the theme for the DC gathering should be “Save America.” Glory to God for His confirmation.

As we worked during this time, we received, from the Lord, an instruction to pay close attention to the state of American society and culture, as well as to watch for signs, from natural phenomena, which would indicate God’s direction. We witnessed hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and droughts. The hand of God was moving over the Earth.

But, more than this, we began to see the reasons for which we were being asked to gather together. We began to see the failures of our Church: failure to adhere to the instructions in the Word of God; failure to take the gospel into all corners of this land; failure to submit to the Great Commission to bring the gospel to the world; failure to pastor the Church with morality and righteousness.

Because of this, the Church of Jesus Christ has become known as an agent of hypocrisy. The Church is known as a place of pedophilia. The Church is known as a place of great sexual immorality. The Church is known as a dying institution. It is time for the Church to rise up to our divine calling by falling on our knees and our faces. It is time for God’s people to come together, in repentant prayer, and humble ourselves, before God, asking for Him to heal our land, the United States of America.

The prophet Joel wrote at Joel 2:12–19 and 28–29:

“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave behind a blessing—grain offerings and drink offerings for the Lord your God.

Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber. Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”

Then the Lord was jealous for his land and took pity on his people. The Lord replied to them: “I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully; never again will I make you an object of scorn to the nations….

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”

The call is urgent. The need is desperate. Our nation is in imminent danger of reaping the Lord’s judgment for our sins if we do not act. It is time to come together, as God’s people, to petition the Lord, our God, to save America. All Christians, heed the call of our God! On Saturday, October 20th, we will gather on the National Mall, in the “Great White City,” Washington, DC, at 8:00 am, and we will come before the Lord in humble repentance. Throughout the day and into the evening, we will worship, we will cry out for God’s mercy, and we will pray for His blessing on our land.

At 2nd Chronicles 7:14, we are given instruction as to how we can save our land:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Join with us, partner with us, support our work for the Lord. We need all Americans who care about the destiny of this nation to make a stand with us, in order to turn the tide in the heavenly realms. As we humble ourselves and seek His face, we want to loose the presence, power, and love of God on this land, for His glory. Support us by praying with us. Support us by worshiping with us. Support us by donating. Support us by being in Washington, DC, on the National Mall, at 8:00 am, on Saturday, October 20th. Support us by discussing the urgency of this call and spreading the word far and wide.

A coalition of Christian organizations is coming together to prepare this event. There is no political agenda. With fasting and prayer, we will gather to intercede for every sphere of culture and society, confessing and repenting for the sins of our nation. We will bless and pray for all those in authority, according to 1st Timothy 2. There will be a time to bless and affirm the people and nation of Israel, as well as to ratify the original covenant relationships established by America’s founders. We will also honor and pray for our youth and children, acknowledging the generational transfer of spiritual authority and commissioning them for the divine call on their lives.

God desires to bring blessing and transformation, so that America can bring His blessing to the world. But we are in danger of judgment if we do not respond to His call. We must act now. Join us in Washington, DC, on October 20th as we cry out to the Lord, “Save America!” Let God hear from His people.

Thank you for listening to this urgent call.

God, bless America!
